Gold Silver Reports (GSR) – Sensex, Nifty Struggle; HDFC Twins Weigh – Indian equity benchmarks were struggling dragged down by HDFC twins and ICICI Bank. However, the losses were capped as IT shares rose tracking weakness in Indian rupee against the U.S. dollar. The S&P BSE Sensex was trading 0.14 percent lower at 34,563 and the NSE Nifty 50 index fell 0.2 percent to 10,590.
Eight out of 11 sector gauges compiled by National Stock Exchange were trading lower led by the Nifty Metal index’s 1.1 percent fall. While, the Nifty IT index rose 1.5 percent.
The overall market breadth was negative as 1,414 shares were declining while 983 were advancing on the BSE.
