Gold Silver Reports – The U.S. central bank slashed rates by 50 basis points, cutting rates outside the normal cycle of meetings for the first time since 2008. Speculation is rife that the European Central Bank will respond to the Fed’s “decisive” interest rate cut with easing of its own.
Spot gold was down 0.1 per cent at $1,574.69 per ounce as of 0427 GMT, having touched its highest since Feb. 4 at $1,577.89 earlier in the session.

MCX Natural Gas prices settled up 0.33% at 153.2 on forecasts calling for a little colder weather in late January despite a government report showing a smaller-than-expected storage draw last week.
Base Metal Tips – Copper Prices: Net longs in the industrial metal grew slightly as funds marginally cut back on their short positions by 1%. However, copper could be starting to top out as investors refrain from taking up fresh longs.
