Gold and silver prices today struggled in Indian markets today after a sharp rise in the previous session. On MCX, June gold futures were flat ₹44977 per 10 gram while silver rates were down 0.35% at ₹63595 per kg. In the previous session, gold had risen 1% while silver 0.9%.
Gold Prices Today Fall, Down at one-Year Lows; Silver Drops
Gold prices fell for fifth day today while silver continued its downtrend in Indian markets, tracking softer global rates. On MCX, June gold futures fell 0.3% to near one-year low of ₹44,300 while silver declined 0.8% to ₹62,617 per kg. In the previous session, gold had declined 0.5% while silver had tumbled 1.7%.

Gold prices today: Gold and silver prices today: declined in Indian markets, tracking softer global rates. On MCX, gold futures fell 0.23% to ₹44590 while silver edged lower to ₹64,840 per kg. In the previous session, gold fell 0.35% while silver declined 0.5%. Earlier this month, gold prices had dropped to nearly one-year lows of ₹44,150. After today’s fall, the precious metal is down about ₹11,500 from August highs of ₹56,200.
Gold imports slip 3.3% to $26.11 billion in Apr-Feb: Govt data
Gold imports, which have a bearing on the country’s current account deficit (CAD), fell 3.3% to $26.11 billion during April-February 2020-21, according to the commerce ministry data.
