Maruti Suzuki has introduced a brand new SUV expanding the Arena lineup, called Victoris. During the launch event, thebrand announced that the newSUV has passed the BNCAP (Bharat NewCar Assessment Programme) with flying colours, receiving a 5 star safety rating. The score remains the same for both adult and child occupants’ protection offered by the vehicle. Here we take a look at all the details of the SUV, including the safety features.
Diving into details, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris secured 31.66 out of 32 points for adult occupant safety and 43.00 out of 49 points for childsafety. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the SUV scored 15.66 points out of 16, while the side movable deformable barriertest resulted in a perfect 16 out of 16 points.
Notably, this marks the first instance where we have seen the design of the Victoris. The test results clearly indicate that 6 airbags are included as standard equipment alongwith ADAS Level 2, discs on all four brakes, electronic parking brake, 360-degree camera, and more.
The list of ADAS safety features for the Maruti-Suzuki Victoris also includes automatic emergency brake, adaptive cruise control with curve speed reduction, lane keep assist, high beam assist, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitor with lane change alert and more.
The Maruti Suzuki Victoris shares its powertrain and drivetrain options with the Grand Vitara. There are two available powertrain options – a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5L strong-hybrid configuration.
