Gold Prices Today: Silver and gold prices today edged lower in Indian markets after seeing a steep rise over the past few days. MCX gold futures were down 0.1% to ₹46,793 per 10 gram while silver prices dropped 0.4% to ₹67,240. Over the previous two sessions, gold had risen over ₹1,000 per 10 gram. Gold Prices in India: The premium gold dealers charged over official prices in India edged lower amid an uptick in prices. Dealers charged premiums of up to $4 an ounce this week over official domestic prices, down from the last week’s $5, Reuters reported.

Gold prices fell for fifth day today while silver continued its downtrend in Indian markets, tracking softer global rates. On MCX, June gold futures fell 0.3% to near one-year low of ₹44,300 while silver declined 0.8% to ₹62,617 per kg. In the previous session, gold had declined 0.5% while silver had tumbled 1.7%.

Gold imports slip 3.3% to $26.11 billion in Apr-Feb: Govt data
Gold imports, which have a bearing on the country’s current account deficit (CAD), fell 3.3% to $26.11 billion during April-February 2020-21, according to the commerce ministry data.
