Gold may witness some profit-taking at higher levels but overall trend looks positive, SMC Global said in a note, adding that MCX gold has support at ₹45,000 while silver has support near ₹42,500.
Silver market took a beating with May futures crashing 3% to ₹39,758 per kg. Gold prices in India had surged sharply lastweek rising about ₹3,000 per 10 gram in tandem with a rally in global rates.
Gold futures prices were up 0.49 per cent to Rs 40,169 per 10 grams, while silver futures were up 0.49 per cent at Rs 45,755 per kg.

सोना पिछले पांच दिनों में 815 रुपये कमजोर हुआ है. इसी तरह चांदी भी इतने समय में 2650 रुपये टूटी है. मीडिया रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, शनिवार को सोने के भाव में करीब 200 रुपये की गिरावट देखी गई. सोने का हाजिर भाव शनिवार को दिल्ली में 200 रुपये घटने के बाद 39270 रुपये प्रति 10 ग्राम रहा. इसी तरह, चांदी की कीमत भी 400 रुपये टूटकर 45450 रुपये दर्ज की गई. यह 1 अक्टूबर के बाद का निचला लेवल है.
