Rupee Hits Lifetime Low: The Indian Rupee hit a lifetime low level of 80.43 on Thursday after US Fed’s decision to hike interest rate by 75 basis points yet again. The domestic currency opened at a record low of 80.2850 per US dollar, down from the previous close of 79.97.

The rupee declined 15 paise to close at a new lifetime low of 79.60 (provisional) against the US dollar on Tuesday as a strong greenback overseas and weakness in domestic equities continued to weigh on investor sentiments.

Gold Silver Reports (GSR) – Indian rupee on Tuesday turned positive for 2019 against US dollar as foreign investors continued to buy in equities and debt ahead of general elections. At 9.15 am, the rupee was trading at 69.71 a dollar, up 0.24% from its previous close of 69.89. The home currency opened at 69.75 a dollar and touched a high of 69.69.
Rupee likely to Depreciate Further to 78 Against US Dollar in 2019
