Indian stock markets returned to their winning ways on Tuesday, snapping their 6-day-losing run. The BSE Sensex today gained 584.81 points, or 0.72 per cent, to end at 81,634.8 levels. The Nifty50, too, shut shop at 25,013.15, up 217.38 points or 0.88 per cent as investors digested the Assembly elections results, and dazzling rally in China stocks moderated.

The domestic equity benchmarks traded with major losses in morning trade amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. Israels ongoing attacks on Lebanon have heightened geopolitical uncertainty. The Nifty traded below the 26,000 level. Realty shares extended losses for the two consecutive trading sessions.
Investors are also eyeing a busy week of US economic data, culminating in the November jobs report, which could heavilty influence the Feds decision on interest rate cuts.

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were range-bound in Wednesday’s trade, much in line with Asian peers, as investors globally eye the outcome of the two-day US Federal Reserve’s policy review later today. Analysts are largely betting on a 25 basis points (bps) rate cut, though they do not rule out a bigger 50-bp move. What stock investors would cheer, analysts said, is a small cut with a dovish Fed commentary on future rate cuts.
