As India entered day 5 of 21-day lockdown imposed by the government to fightthe novel coronavirus 2019 outbreak inthe country, the number of confirmed cases rose to 1,024 including 48 foreign nationals on Sunday, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Of them, 95 have been cured or discharged with one migrated case.

If 60 per cent of the available 14 stations — Minicoy, Amini, Thiruvananthapuram, Punalur, Kollam, Allapuzha, Kottayam, Kochi, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Thalassery, Kannur, Kudulu and Mangalore — report rainfall of 2.5 mm or more for two consecutive days after May 10, the onset of Monsoon over Kerala can be declared on the second day.
