Prestige Estates Reports Record Sales In Its Q3 Business Updates; Shares Jump 8%

Shares of Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. rose as much as 8.28%, the biggest intraday gain in nearly two months, to a record Rs 554.9 apiece.

  • Prestige Estates logged record sales of Rs 4,267.6 crore, up 111% YoY in the quarter-ended December, the company said in its business update.
  • Collections rose 70% YoY to Rs 2,431.6 crore.
  • Of the 19 analysts tracked by Bloomberg, 17 maintained ‘buy’, one maintained ‘hold’ and one maintained ‘sell’ recommendations. The overall consensus price of analysts tracked by Bloomberg implied an upside of 4.7%.
  • Trading volume on the stock was 23 times the 30-day average volume at this time of the day. The relative strength index on the stock is at 77, suggesting it may be overbought.

India’s stock benchmarks opened higher, aided by gains in oil & gas, power, realty stocks, amid a rebound in global equities.

The S&P BSE Sensex rose 0.19% to 61,425.99. The NSE Nifty 50 advanced by similar magnitude to 18,338.75.

Dixon Tech Signs JV Pact With Imagine Marketing For Making Bluetooth Enabled Audio Devices

  • Dixon Technologies Ltd. entered into joint venture agreement with Imagine Marketing Pvt Ltd. to design and manufacture wireless audio solutions in India.
  • The proposed JV company will be owned 50% by Dixon and 50% by Imagine.
  • Dixon Tech says that the JV is for making bluetooth enabled audio devices.

  • Tata Power: Tata Power Renewable Energy commissioned two solar power projects of 50 MW each at Prayagraj, and Banda in Uttar Pradesh.
  • Tech Mahindra: Acquired Com Tec Co IT for Rs 2,627.97 crore, including earnouts and synergy-linked payouts. It is also investing a cumulative Rs 169.55 crore, in SWFT and Surance, for a 25% ownership in each of the two InsurTech ventures funded by the same founding group as CTC.
  • IIFL Finance: Will consider interim dividend on Jan. 27.
  • Indian Energy Exchange: Has executed a share purchase agreement between Indian Oil Corp. and Indian Gas Exchange, subsidiary of the IEX, for a sale of 4.93% stake in IGX to IOCL consisting of 36,93,750 equity shares, having a face value of Rs 10 each.
  • HFCL: Reported consolidated revenue of Rs 1,215.21 crore, up 8.29% sequentially in Q3. Net profit fell 5.81% to Rs 81.1 crore. Ebitda margin contracted 110 basis points to 14.32%. It will expand capacity of optical fibre and optical fibre cable with a cumulative investment of Rs 425 crore.
  • Care Edge: Will consider declaration of interim dividend on Jan. 28.
  • Cholamandalam Investment and Finance: Has signed a shareholders agreement and a share purchase agreement with Payswiff, its founders and other existing shareholders to make a strategic investment not exceeding Rs 450 crore. It will hold up to 72.12% of the equity capital of Payswiff on a fully diluted basis and Payswiff consequently will become a subsidiary of the company.
  • Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem: The company’s revenue from operations stood at Rs 104.6 crore in Q3, up 31% YoY. Net profit rose 9% to Rs 22.80 crore.
  • Dilip Buildcon: The construction of four lanes of Yavatmal to Wardha section of NH-361 in Maharashtra under NHDP Phase -IV on Hybrid Annuity mode has been completed.
  • Bosch: Has appointed Karin Gilges as the Chief Financial Officer.

SGX Nifty Hints At Opening Gains

Most Asian stocks advanced as investors weighed the economic recovery from the pandemic.

Shares climbed in Japan and Australia but wavered in South Korea. Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 futures were broadly steady. U.S. markets will reopen later following a holiday.

The Singapore-traded SGX Nifty, an early indicator of India’s Nifty 50 Index’s performance, was little changed at 18,343 as of 7:30 a.m.

The yen pared a drop ahead of the Bank of Japan rate decision. The monetary authority is expected to sit tight on accommodative policy while bumping up its inflation projection.

Elsewhere, oil climbed as geopolitical tensions stirred in the Middle East. In cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin fell back to around $42,000 and is down about 10% so far in 2022.

Apple, Samsung May Make Phones Works $5 Billion In FY22 In India, Reports The Economic Times

Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. are set to manufacture smartphones worth $5 billion in India under PLI scheme this fiscal, the Economic Times reported, citing unnamed government officials and industry executives.

The projected production is 50% above the target set by authorities.
