New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Friday wrote toNarendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s prime ministerial candidate, asking about his gas pricing policy and if Mukesh Ambani-ledReliance India Ltd (RIL) was financially helping his election campaign.
Kejriwal asked Modi if he would allow a price of $4 per million British thermal units of gas or $8 per mmBtu if his party forms the next government; his and the BJP’s relations with Ambani, and how much money was being spent on Modi’s campaign and from what sources.
“According to news reports, you openly use air crafts of Mukesh Ambani. People also say that even Rahul Gandhi uses such air crafts. Do you get these air crafts for free or do you pay any rent for it?,” Kejriwal wrote in his letter to Modi on Friday.
“There is a discussion in the public that crores of rupees are being spent on every single rally of yours. Who does this money belong to? Some people say that Mukesh Ambani funds you. Is that true?,” he wrote.
The AAP, which recently resigned from the government in Delhi after a brief stint, will write a similar letter to Congress party vice president Rahul Gandhi.
“To Rahul Gandhi we are going to ask that while these decisions (on gas pricing) was taken by his government which is known to be run by his family, what does he have to say on this,” Kejriwal told media persons.
Kejriwal also welcomed Rajmohan Gandhi, the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, to the AAP on Friday at the media briefing.
